IT Asset Manager

Monthly Salary: R31,000 - R35,000.00 (CTC)

About the Role:

​

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented IT Asset Manager to lead our IT Asset Management (ITAM) function.

​

You will oversee the end-to-end management of IT assets, ensuring accurate asset visibility, strong governance, compliance, and cost optimisation. Working across IT, Finance, and Procurement, you will drive best practices, improve data integrity, and deliver insights that support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

IT Asset Management  and Compliance

​​

  • Monitor and resolve asset exceptions (e.g., missing devices, unknown assets, inactive agents)

  • Ensure accurate asset allocation to business units and cost centres

  • Manage IT asset leases and coordinate lifecycle activities (renewals, replacements)

 

Inventory & Audit

​

  • Perform regular reconciliations between ITAM systems and actual assets

  • Support internal and external audits

  • Maintain accurate asset records (tagging, serial numbers, locations)

 

Operational Support
 

  • Manage asset-related tickets (SysAid or similar)

  • Support onboarding/offboarding processes

  • Coordinate repairs, warranties, and procurement with relevant teams

  • Escalate non-compliant or inactive devices (Intune)

 

Reporting & Insights
 

  • Produce regular dashboards and reports on asset compliance and visibility

  • Analyse asset data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities

 

Skills & Attributes

​

  • Strong Excel and reporting capability

  • High attention to detail and data accuracy

  • Solid communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure

 

Education:

​

  • Matric (Grade 12).

  • Diploma in IT, Information Systems, Business, or related field.

  • ITIL Foundation.

  • IT Asset Management certification (Advantageous).

 

Experience:

​

  • 4 – 6 Years in ITAM, or similar environment.

  • Hand-on knowledge of ITAM tools (ServiceNow, SysAid, Reftab, etc.)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM), Power BI, and Excel.

  • Experience with asset compliance, audits, and lifecycle management.

  • Experience with financial accounting principles related to IT Asset Management.
